LOOSE CANNONS BIO

A very LOOSE history of the group.

LOOSE CANNONS was established in 1998 as an experiment between two veteran local musicians and two not so experienced musicians.

Since then there have been some changes but the sound remains the same. Not to mention in the last three years this thing has taken off like a rocket and the following grows larger with each passing month.

 

First on drums and vocals is Shawn Benjamin. He was one of the not so experienced guys but over the last eight years he has established himself as one of the premiere drummers in NW Ohio. Shawn's interests are of course music, bowling, and is an aspiring member of his church persuing an interest in serving. He has played with the alternative bands Poker Face and Sarkazm. He hales from North Baltimore Ohio.

 

Next is Jay Saldana on bass guitar. Jay was another new to the performance experience and has grown into one of the best bass players in the area. Jay's is married with three kids and resides in Findlay Ohio. Jay likes music, pizza, and cooking out on his b-b-q pit. He has play with the alternative rock band Better Daze and the punk band Poop. He is the grandson of renowned country guitarist Lane Jackson.

 

Mike Bean is the newest member of LOOSE CANNONS. He came on board in August of 2006. He plays rythem guitar and vocals. Mike is married with a tribe of kids (5) and lives in Findlay Ohio. He is a veteran musician starting out as a drummer,and adapted over time as a guitar player. He enjoys football, music, and food. He played music with Jay in Better Daze, and the rock band Aftershock.

 

Finally comes the old man of the band Dan Grim. He has been in the business thirty years is married to his wife of twenty years Cheryl and also lives in Findlay Ohio. Dan plays guitar, keyboards and vocals. He is one of the founders of LOOSE CANNONS and is the only surviving member of the original group. Dan likes watching sports, internet games, and classic rock and roll. He has played in the bands Southern Pride, The Jed Gefield Band, and did a stint touring Canada with the band Centerline.
